Florida approved cannabis cultivation licenses went into effect July 2017 with an application window that will remain open until October 31st, 2018 or whenever 100 qualified applications have been submitted.
The cultivation licenses are the first step in Florida’s medical cannabis program. In order to be eligible for a license, applicants must submit an application through the Office of Compassionate Use (OCU). The OCU will then review submitted applications and grant licenses accordingly.
Florida certified hemp seed is now available, and it’s a great time to get your grow on!
This Florida certified hemp seed was specially selected for the Sunshine State in mind. It will produce higher yields than other cannabis strains because of its genetics and nutrient profile.
The plants are resistant against pests, drought, frost, heat waves – even hurricanes! We’ve never seen anything like this before so we’re excited to bring you these tough little guys that can survive almost any weather condition imaginable.
What’s the difference between regular seeds vs Florida certified? Regular seeds have been crossbred with different strains over decades whereas our Florida Certified Hemp Seeds have only been crossbred with other Florida certified hemp seeds.
What should I do if my plants don’t grow? The first thing to check is your lighting and hydration levels – if they are sufficient, you may need more time before the next harvest. You can also try a different strain of cannabis or repotting for better soil saturation. If none of these options work out!
Can I water this plant in any way besides adding water? Yes! Irrigation will guarantee higher yields but it has been shown that feeding them with fish fertilizers and seaweed extracts have an even greater effect on their growth cycle than just watering alone could ever provide so try feeding your plants with fish fertilizers and seaweed extracts!
How can I tell the difference between male and female plants? The easiest way to differentiate is by looking at their flowers. Male cannabis flower buds are small, hairless, and usually a pale color while female plant buds will be large and covered in resin glands that give off an orange-ish hue.
Where do you put your seeds when planting them? Planting location is dependent on where you live but for those in Florida we recommend planting during the spring months!
Can hemp provide enough nutrients for the soil if it does not rain or water my garden every day? Hemp provides natural fertilizer which gradually releases nitrogen into the ground so don’t worry about feeding your plants with fish fertilizers or seaweed extracts – they shouldn’t need it!
How do I know when to harvest my hemp plant? Harvesting time is dependent on how much THC the plant produces but typically harvesting occurs between October and November.
What are some of the most common diseases that can affect a cannabis crop? The three main diseases we see in Florida crops are powdery mildew, leaf spot, and rust. Luckily these fungi don’t like dry weather so keeping your plants as happy as possible by watering them often should keep their immune systems strong enough to ward off any potential infections.
Where does water for irrigation come from if there isn’t rain or surface runoff available? For those who live outside of Florida looking into an Aquatlantis submersible pump may be helpful – they can pump up to 15,000 gallons a day.
Hemp is an eco-friendly crop that can be used in a variety of ways. If you are interested in buying hemp seeds, we’ve got them for sale on our website! Contact us today to learn more about how Florida certified hemp seed can help your business grow and thrive.
